The following is the current Agenda for the Gala Celebrations 2011: This Agenda is subject to change.
All events are located within the very safe and accepting Ramada Plaza Hotel unless otherwise noted:
Main venues:
Ramada Plaza Hotel
located just south of Carlton St. on the west side of Jarvis. Ample parking. This hotel has been beautiful renovated and offer a very pleasant, relax, contemporary environment. Phone: 416-977-4823/1-800-567-2233 for reservations.
Xpressions Hospitality Suite, located on the 9th floor.
Small, quiet setting to relax, meet, change and get information. Coffee, tea and soft drinks will be available. This is where you will pick-up your Registration Packages. The Hospitality Suite will be available, with limitations, throughout the 4 day event.
Frontenac Room, located on the 10th floor.
Larger setting to accommodate events such as AGM Luncheon, Make-overs and Tea Room.
SHADE Restaurant, Ramada Plaza.
The Shade houses both the SHADE Restaurant and Hotel Bar. The Bar offers a relaxed casual setting and will be a focal point for the Pres’y’s Siorée and pre-Gala dinner cocktails. On the Saturday, the restaurant itself will be transformed into the Prom Night, Pageant and Gala Dinner venue.
The Flying Beaver
located at 488 Parliament Street, just 2 blocks east of the hotel, just north of Carlton.
Thursday 1st Dec. 2011 – Yours to discover…
4:00pm until 8:00pm Xpressions OPEN HOUSE. Hospitality Suite (9th floor).
For the curious and inquiring. Dressed or Drab. Sit, relax and ask questions of Xpressions members. New grrl orientation. (Limited change facilities available.)
Clothing Exchange! Either bring -OR- just browse the larger range of new or lightly used clothing, wigs, shoes and other misc items. (Limited charge facilities available)
Friday: Culture Day that ends in a lot of laughs!
We will be travelling in luxury from the Ramada to meet up with some fabulous bargains with our hostess Kathryn McCallum. There is no where else with the selection and pricing of everything from casual to elegant in sizes 14 and up.

2:00pm – 4:00pm Private tour of the Bata Museum.(PLEASE REGISTER HERE!)
Think of it as playing catch-up. Shoe shopping throughout the ages.
Meet in the Hotel lobby for transportation to the Bata Museum. This is a private, Xpressions only-tour group, with our own exclusive tour guide. Wear comfortable shoes!
5:00pm -5:45pm
6:00pm - 7:00pm
This is just the place to really get into the mood. If this is your starting point for the Gala, perfect! Whether it is your first time or 10th, this is the place to meet and let your hair down. Dress code is Casual/cocktail.
7:00 Pm – 9:00 Dinner, Comedy and Jazz.
This is a fantastic (if not a little ireverant) event, a MUST COME and will break you out of any box you might be in.
PLEASE note that a $25 cover charge will apply if you do NOT have your Xpressions Ticket/Passport.
9:00pm – 11:00’ish Xpressions Talent and Karaoke show.
Pageant Contestant will bless us by sharing their gifts (cough!) and non-combatants can show just how good the rest of us are.
11:00pm - ? Hospitality Suite…
is available for those that need to change or for those that want to keep the party going.
Saturday, 3rd Dec. 2011. Pamper yourself Day:
9:00am- 4:00pm-
12:00 – 1:00pm the Gala Luncheon and Annual General Meeting - Frontenac Room, 10th Floor.
While enjoying a pleasant lunch, please join us to acknowledge the Board of 2011, to bring in the new Board and to ask question re. Xpressions governance. Your participation in the AGM is important. Please plan to be there and help us continue to make a difference.
1:30pm- 4:00pm-
OK, you've done your shopping now take the time to shake those stresses away!
2:00pm – 4:00pm Xpressions Tea Room - Frontenac Room, 10th Floor.
Amid the hustle and bustle, take time for tea, a scone with clotted cream and organic jams or homemade Eccles cakes. Xpressions- Refined.
3:00pm – 6:00pm
Glamorous make-overs, eyebrow shaping and eyelashes so that you can look your very best for the Gala Dinner.
Times to be determined – Pageant Rehearsals – Shade Restaurant.
Learning to make the runway your own! So grrls, strut your stuff and make an impression!
Prom’ Night, Pageant and Gala Dinner!
6:00pm – 7:00pm Gala Cocktails with Sparkling Punch. – Shade Restaurant/Bar
7:00ish- 12:00pm Prom’ Night, Pageant and Gala Dinner!
Four course festive Dinner, Pageant, Prizes, Music, Entertainment and Dancing. We have it all.! We will even have a quite lounge area with soft seats where you can recover.
Sunday – 4th Dec. 2011:
10:00am - Gala Farewell Brunch.
As many of us know, Sunday always brings with it a certain sweet sorrow. Dressed or drab, say our farewells and look forward to our next meeting and 2012. The hospitality suite will be available for temporary storage of bags.
